Here's the image of the nose that I was painting at the time. This is one of a series of portraits I'm working on about the people in my home town - this being the Town Clerk.
Today I've been experimenting with a different style of painting. I did this monoprint on gesso a while back and it's something I wanted to take further.
I just decided to have a play and see what happened, so started off by collecting a few things around me that might be useful. I had a hankering for red, black and white for some reason. I have to say that nothing wonderful came of it, but here's photos of the different stages so you can see.
Adding acrylic paint roughly.
Adding white gesso over the top and scraping a bit.
Adding black gesso and scraping a bit more.
Back to white gesso to put on an egg shape for a face. I gently scraped the gesso with a palette knife for the features.
Adding some hair, neck and shoulders.
And a little watery green. Don't worry (in case you were wondering) - it's not part of the Shuffle!!
