Terms & Conditions

We would love as many people as possible to join in with the Portrait Shuffle. The Ts & Cs are always the boring bit, but please read the Terms & Conditions below before signing up. Purchasing a pack and sending us your canvas confirms that you are agreeing to and accepting them.

All profits from this project will be donated to Save The Children. Registered charity number 213890. A minimum donation of £5 from every Portrait Shuffle pack will be donated.

Portrait Shuffle canvasses will be exhibited at The Festival of Quilts, NEC, Birmingham, UK. 10th-13th August 2017. They will be displayed as part of 'Portrait' by Through Our Hands. This event will be referred to as 'the exhibition'.

After the exhibition, your completed canvas will be sent to another participant. In turn, you will receive someone else's. This will be referred to as 'the shuffle'.

To be included in the exhibition and the shuffle your canvas will need to be with us by 31st July 2017. We recommend that for peace of mind, you return your canvas to us with a tracked and signed for service.

As this is a charitable project, we cannot afford to pay any import duty on your parcel. Please mark your parcel with a very low (or no) value. It can be marked as a 'gift' as of course you are donating it to the project. If you are unsure of what to do, please email us before you send for more specific advice.

Returning your completed canvas to us confirms your wish to be included in the Exhibition and the shuffle.

Returning your completed canvas to us confirms you give permission for images of your portrait to be used for publicity purposes, including but not limited to, our website, blog, Facebook page. You are also consenting for your work to be photographed by the general public and press during the exhibition.

Copyright of all work submitted to the Portrait Shuffle remains with the creator.

We reserve the right to not display any work that may be deemed offensive or dangerous.

Please ensure that the work you submit is your own and original and does not infringe any third party copyright.

We cannot take responsibility for any losses in the post of completed canvasses for any part of their journey to and from the project.

Whilst in our care, we will look after your work as if it were our own. However we cannot be held responsible for any losses or damages.

The shuffle is final. There will be no exchanges or swaps. There are no cash alternatives. There are no  refunds.

We will endeavour to send you the Shuffle portrait canvas as swiftly as possible after the end of the exhibition.

If you are under 18 years of age, please ask your parent or guardian to sign the slip that you will find in your Portrait Shuffle pack.

The Portrait Shuffle is open to everyone. However we specify that all correspondence is carried out in a polite and courteous manner. We reserve the right to refuse acceptance to the project.
